Become a CAADS Member

Since 1978, the California Association for Adult Day Services (CAADS) has been the nation's largest statewide association advocating for public policies that support the growth and quality of adult day services and community options. CAADS strives to encourage quality, efficiency, leadership and innovation by providing timely information, technical assistance, education, and business technology to its members. CAADS is a non-profit 501 (c) 6 mutual benefit organization.


MEMBERSHIP CLASSIFICATIONS

There are four (4) main classifications of membership:

  • Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) / Community Based Adult Services (CBAS) Membership
    (Medical Model)
    Membership is for the licensed Adult Day Health Care facility, or entity exploring the feasibility of opening / purchasing an Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) / Community Based Adult Services (CBAS) center. Licensure is by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Medi-Cal certification is by the California Department of Aging (CDA).
  • Adult Day Program (ADP) Membership
    (Non-Medical Model)
    Membership is for the licensed Adult Day Program, or entity exploring the feasibility of opening / purchasing an Adult Day Program (ADP) center. Licensure is by the California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division.
  • Adult Day Vendorized Program (ADVP) Membership
    (Non-Medical Model)
    Membership is for a licensed Adult Day Vendorized Program or "program-without-walls" that exclusively serves Regional Center clients. An ADVP can be licensed by the California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, or be designated as a "program-without-walls" through one of California's 21 Regional Centers who contract with the California Department of Developmental Services (DDS).
  • Associate (ASOC) Membership
    (Not an Adult Day Services provider or prospective provider)
    Membership is for the business or organization that provides products / services for the Adult Day Services industry.

Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) / Community Based Adult Services (CBAS)

An Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) center is licensed by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Considered a "health facility," an ADHC is subject to an annual licensure fee by the State of California and periodic inspection by the California Department of Public Health. ADHCs serving Medi-Cal (Medicaid) beneficiaries must be certified as a Community Based Adult Services (CBAS) provider by the California Department of Aging (CDA).

Within the ADHC / CBAS category, there are three membership options: Pre-Licensed (non-voting membership), New Licensee/Owner (voting membership), and Licensed Provider (voting membership).

Adult Day Program (ADP)

An Adult Day Program (ADP) center is licensed by the California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division (DSS, CCLD). Considered an "Adult and Senior Care Program," an ADP is subject to an annual licensure fee by the State of California. An ADP is not a "health facility;" therefore, it cannot be certified nor reimbursed to serve Medi-Cal (Medicaid) beneficiaries.

Within the ADP category, there are three membership options: Pre-Licensed (non-voting membership), New Licensee/Owner (voting membership), and Licensed Provider (voting membership).

Adult Day Vendorized Program (ADVP)

Associate (ASOC)

An Associate is a business / organization that is not providing adult day services and is not intending to do so in the future.

Within the ASOC category, there are five membership options, all of which are non-voting memberships: Allied Community / Government Organization (for a health or social services organization, association or network); Consultant (for adult day services start-up or operational consulting); Health Care Provider Partner (for a licensed health care provider partner such as a Knox-Keene Licensed Plan, Nursing Facility, etc.); Main Office (additional membership for adult day services site/s already in membership); and Vendor (for a business offering products or services to adult day services providers).

APPLICATION PROCESS

Prorated Dues
Dues Payment Plan Policy and Agreement Form - 2017 ($20 processing fee, per installment)

To apply for membership, please fill out the Application for Membership in full and submit it to the CAADS office along with all required attachments and your dues payment. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Dues are prorated. Please refer to the Prorated Dues section to determine your initial dues obligation. To request a payment plan, please complete the CAADS Dues Payment Plan Policy and Agreement From and submit it with your first payment.

The Membership Committee meets monthly to review applications. Once approved, the applicant will receive a letter, membership certificate, rolodex card with Membership Number, and a confidential User Name and Password for access to the Members Only section of the CAADS Website.

In the event the application is declined by the Membership Committee, notification to the applicant will be made by mail and a refund issued.

Instructions for Completing the Membership Application

Please read all instructions carefully. Print or type on all forms. Incomplete applications will be returned unprocessed. CAADS charges a $50 processing fee for returned checks.

MasterCard, Visa, and Discover only. We do not accept American Express.
Be sure to include: Credit card number, Expiration date, Name that appears on the card, Cardholder's street address, and Authorized signature.

QUALITY AND STANDARDS

CAADS members pledge to uphold the highest quality of standards. Members agree to abide by the Bylaws, Code of Ethics, Anti-Trust Policy and Compliance Guidelines and other policies of CAADS including decisions of the Ethics Committee, Membership Committee and other duly constituted CAADS committees.


PRORATED DUES

CAADS' membership year is January 1 to December 31. New Members pay dues according to when they join:

60% of current year's annual dues rate

July 1 to September 30

50% of current year's annual dues rate

October 1 to December 31

100% of next year's annual dues at current year's annual dues rate; remainder of membership year is FREE!
